Making Music at Catalyst Circle Rock

My name is Terrell Jones and I am a 5th grade student at Catalyst Circle Rock. Last year, I joined my school’s orchestra. I loved trying out all of the instruments last year. At the end of it, I wanted to play percussion, the cello, or the clarinet – I’m happy that I got one of my top choices, the clarinet.

I enjoy orchestra because I feel like the music got into me, especially “Ode to Joy.” I really love to play “forte,” which means “loud.” When I got that feeling, it made me curious about how to write the notes. I learned how to write notes in orchestra, so now, I compose my own songs.

The orchestra at Catalyst changed the way that I live my life. Without music and this orchestra, I’d be at home right now, sitting around and probably doing my homework. Now, I love staying at school to make music with my friends.
